Dance of Death candle holder for tea lights
In 1922, Walter Draesner's silhouette book "Ein Totentanz" (A Dance of Death) was published in Germany. Now, 100 years later, his art is as brutally chilling as ever... and it looks great on our candle holder for tea lights!
The candle holder is handcrafted from sustainable reclaimed timber - it started life as the corner on a pallet! It takes a lot of cleaning, shaping, and sanding to get it ready for the finishing touches, but we think it's worth it. It is carefully finished in Tombstone Grey and measures approximately 9cm tall and 8.5cm wide. A different scene is shown on each side:
- Im Tode vereint / United in death
- Der Tod am Galgen / Death on the gallows
- Tod und Krieger / Death and warrior
- Tod im Wasser / Death in the water
A great spooky addition to any living space! Free postage!
Every item crafted from wood is as unique as the tree it is made from; every item crafted from reclaimed wood has whispers of its previous life. Sometimes they are hidden; sometimes they are obvious, and they enhance the piece by aluding to a previous life. This means that every piece we make has slight differences - if you would like a photo of the one we are going to send before you purchase it, please get in touch and we will be happy to send you a photo of it. Four examples are shown in the photos, and we have many more in stock.
